Oreolagus nevadensis
Taxonomy
Palaeolagus nevadensis was named by Kellogg (1910). Its type specimen is UCMP 12575, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Virgin Valley, which is in a Barstovian terrestrial horizon in the Virgin Valley Formation of Nevada.
It was recombined as Oreolagus nevadensis by Dice (1917), McGrew (1941), Dawson (1965), Nichols (1976).
