Taxonomy

Geomys propinetis was named by Wilkins (1984). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Inglis IA, which is in a Gelasian terrestrial horizon in Florida.

It was recombined as Orthogeomys propinetis by Ruez (2001).
