Yanbeilong ultimus was named by Jia et al. (2024). It is not extant. Its type specimen is SXMG V 00006. Its type locality is Madaotou Township, Zuoyun, which is in an Albian fluvial-lacustrine conglomerate/mudstone in the Zuoyun Formation of China.
