Taxonomy
Briscoia peladense was named by Rusconi (1953). Its type specimen is MCNAM 15680, a pygidium, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Hungaia peladense by Rusconi (1954); it was recombined as Hungaia peladensis by Tortello (2014).
