Taxonomy
Notchpeakia cherrycreekensis was named by Adrain and Westrop (2006). Its type specimen is SUI 99220, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is silicified fauna, Barton Canyon, which is in a Sunwaptan deep subtidal grainstone in the Windfall Formation of Nevada.
