Taxonomy
Macronoda notchpeakensis was named by Adrain and Westrop (2005). Its type specimen is SUI 97731, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a cast. Its type locality is Lawson Cove LAW 25.3, which is in a Sunwaptan shallow subtidal lime mudstone/grainstone in the Notch Peak Formation of Nevada.
