Paramys hunti

Taxonomy
Paramys hunti was named by Dawson (2001). Its type specimen is CMN 30913, a tooth (?m1 inf. sin.), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Ellesmere Island (Lower), which is in a Wasatchian deltaic horizon in the Margaret Formation of Canada.

Dawson 2001Paramyine rodent having lower molars with noncuspate, transversely narrow entoconid, continuous with posterior cingulum, and lacking any development of a hypolophid; lophs of trigonid transversely oriented; slightly rugose enamel in talonid basin. p4 with very small trigonid basin and protoconid small and very low on buccal side of metaconid. Differs from other paramyines in combination of
transversely oriented trigonid and narrow, noncuspate entoconid of lower molars, small protoconid, and rudimentary trigonid basin of p4.
