Taxonomy
Acanthonautilus grandis was named by Shchedukhin (2024). Its type specimen is PIN 5668/240, a shell, and it is a mold. Its type locality is Shakh-Tau Shikhan, which is in an Asselian/Sakmarian reef, buildup or bioherm reef rocks in the Russian Federation.
