Ctenomys avitus
Taxonomy
Ctenomys avitus was named by De Santi et al. (2024) [LSIDurn:lsid:zoobank. org:act:7C44559B-668F-4F53-931E-A3F5707ECAAA]. Its type specimen is MLP-Pv 91-IV-25–212, a partial skeleton (almost complete skull and jaw, and 45% of the postcranial elements), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Costa Bonita, which is in a Pleistocene terrestrial horizon in Argentina.
