Entelodontellus
Taxonomy
Entelodontellus was named by Yu et al. (2023) [Differs from all other entelodonts by presenting a broad and laterally protruding pos-terior mandibular tubercle. Further differs from Daeodon, Entelodon and Paraentelodon in its much smaller size, elongated m3, the twinned paraconid-meta-conid on m3 and a robust m3 hypoconulid similar insize to the entoconid. Further differs fromArchaeotherium and Cypretherium in its smaller size, the elongated m3 and the robust m3 hypoconulid. Further differs from Eoentelodon in its larger size, the elongated m3 and presenting a more concave ventralmargin of the horizontal ramus. Further differs from Brachyhyops in its deeper horizontal ramus of the mandible with a more concave ventral margin]. It was considered monophyletic by Yu et al. (2023).
It was assigned to Entelodontidae by Yu et al. (2023).
