Etymology, batrachomorpha, toad-like referring to the anuran-like shape of the skull.

Taxonomy
Iaremys batrachomorpha was named by Agnolín et al. (2024). Its type specimen is MPCN-PV-1005, a partial skull (incomplete anterior section of the skull), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Morales Quarry, which is in a Maastrichtian shoreface sandstone in the Allen Formation of Argentina. It is the type species of Iaremys.
