D. H. Verzi et al. 2024 | A species of the genus Octomys with mandibular corpus longer and shallower than that of O. mimax, and diastema more horizontal than in the latter species; in accordance with these traits, the lower incisor is less curved. Tip of the chin process located at level of the posterior part of the diastema. Notch for the tendon of the m. zygomatico-mandibularis more ventral than the diastema. Anterior margin of the coronoid process ascending behind the m2, not overlapping the latter in lateral view. Postcondyloid process with a ventrolateral apophysis, which is weak or absent in O. mimax. Masseteric crest slightly more posteriorly oriented at
its origin than that of O. mimax. |
