Taxonomy
Aegypius prepyrenaicus was named by Carrasquilla (2001). Its type specimen is MNCN 37148, a limb element (right ulna), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gabasa I, which is in a Pleistocene terrestrial horizon in Spain.
