Endites of short great appendage absent or reduced, such that flagella attach directly to individual podo- meres. Head appendages two and three smaller than successive limbs, with multisegmented exopods that resemble the endo- pods. Head appendages four and five similar to those of the trunk, which consist of endopods with five podomeres plus a ter- minal claw, flap-like exopod, and exite. Well-developed ventral plate anterior and ventral of the mouth opening. Eyes absent. Telson with triangular proximal portion lacking fringing spines and extending into a long flagelliform termination. |
