Caryocaris stewarti was named by Jell (1980). It is not extant. It is the type species of Haplocaris, Jellicaris.
It was recombined as Haplocaris stewarti by Collette and Hagadorn (2010); it was recombined as Jellicaris stewarti by Racheboeuf and Crasquin (2010).
