Ponderodictya was named by Coryell and Malkin (1936) [Sepkoski's age data: D Gedi D Fras-m]. It is not extant. Its type is Leperditia punctulifera.

It was assigned to Healdiidae by Coryell and Malkin (1936); and to Metacopida by Sepkoski (2002).
