Pentremitidea angulata was named by Etheridge and Carpenter (1882). It is not extant. Its type specimen is NHMUK-E792.
It was recombined as Cordyloblastus angulatus by Breimer (1971); it was recombined as Hyperoblastus angulatus by Bohatý et al. (2024).
