Simocormus macrolepidotus
Taxonomy
Simocormus macrolepidotus was named by Maxwell et al. (2020). Its type specimen is NHMUK PV P 6011 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Nusplingen Plattenkalk, Liegende Bankkalk Fm., which is in a Kimmeridgian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in the Liegende Bankkalk Formation of Germany. It is the type species of Simocormus.
