Taxonomy
Cousteauvia kustovia was named by Zelenkov (2020). Its type specimen is PIN 2612/4, a set of postcrania (proximal half of left tarsometatarsus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kusto-Kyzylkain, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial horizon in the Kusto Formation of Kazakhstan. It is the type species of Cousteauvia.
