Chrysodomus (Sipho) halibrectus was named by Dall (1891). It is extant.

It was recombined as Chrysodomus halibrectus by Martin (1916); it was recombined as Colus (Latisipho) halibrectus by Dall (1921); it was recombined as Neptunea (Colus) halibrectus by Grant and IV and Gale (1931).
