Pleurotoma lineolata was named by Gray in Reeve (1846). It is extant. Its type locality is Grignon (Lamarck collection), which is in a Lutetian open shallow subtidal sandstone/sandstone in France.
It was recombined as Clathurella lineolata by Tryon (1884); it was recombined as Mangilia lineolata by Dall (1921); it was recombined as Anachis (Chauvetia) lineolata by Grant and IV and Gale (1931).
