Taxonomy
Haplocytheridea eutawensis was named by Puckett (1994). Its type specimen is HVH 11,569, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Alabama Highway 37 Sample 90-11-15-2b, which is in a Santonian reef, buildup or bioherm mudstone in the Eutaw Formation of Alabama.
