Traquairaspis denisoni was named by Dineley (1964). Its type specimen is NMC 10371 and is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Munchoaspis denisoni by Tarrant (1991).

P. Tarrant 1991Dorsal disc approximately ovate, attaining length of 100 mm, with median keel, no dorsal vane, longitudinal carina on each lateral side marking the change in vaulting and double cyclomoriform whorl on the anterior. Ornament in long fine ridges which run parallel to the anterior and lateral edges.
