Loganopeltis minuta was named by Rasetti (1944). Its type specimen is Laval Univ. 1147, a pygidium, and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Loganopeltoides minutus by Rasetti (1945); it was recombined as Loganopeltoides minuta by Ludvigsen et al. (1989).
