Taxonomy
Peltocare modestum was named by Henningsmoen (1959). Its type specimen is P.M.O. no. 69565, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bjørkåsholmen, Asker - Beta, which is in a Varangu offshore shelf shale in the Alum Formation of Norway.
