Protictis simpsoni

Taxonomy
Protictis simpsoni was named by Meehan and Wilson (2002). Its type specimen is KUVP 7800, a skull (crushed skull with posterior cranium missing plus left and right rami), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Big Pocket, which is in a Torrejonian terrestrial siltstone in the Nacimiento Formation of New Mexico.
