Taxonomy
Protolamna sarstedtensis was named by Schmitz et al. (2010). Its type specimen is NLH 102.976, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gott clay Pit, Sarstedt (early Barremian), which is in a Barremian marine claystone in Germany.
