Taxonomy
Pseudomyscus bathygnathus was named by Korth (1997) [genotype]. Its type locality is Bluejay Quarry, which is in a Clarendonian channel sandstone in the Ash Hollow Formation of Nebraska. It is the type species of Pseudomyscus.
