Taxonomy
Paramys robustus was named by Marsh (1872). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Grizzly Buttes, which is in a Bridgerian terrestrial horizon in the Bridger Formation of Wyoming.
It was recombined as Ischyrotomus robustus by Peterson (1919), Hay (1930), Wilson (1940); it was recombined as Pseudotomus robustus by Matthew (1909), Simpson (1941), Wilson (1949), Wood (1962), Gazin (1976), Korth (1985), Dunn and Rasmussen (2007).
