Ramoceros (Paramoceros) brevicornis
Taxonomy
Ramoceros (Paramoceros) brevicornis was named by Frick (1937) [type of subgenus Paramoceros; this name was used by Tedford and Barghoorn 1993 as a genus without justification]. Its type specimen is F:AM 31348, a partial skull (Frontal sad- dle with horns, shaft short, heavy three-tined crotch), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Skyline Quarry, which is in a Barstovian terrestrial horizon in the Barstow Formation of California. It is the type species of Ramoceros (Paramoceros).
