Scalopus sewardensis
Taxonomy
Hesperoscalops sewardensis was named by Reed (1962). Its type specimen is UMMP 27276 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Saw Rock Canyon (Lower), which is in a Blancan terrestrial horizon in the Rexroad Formation of Kansas.
It was recombined as Scalopus sewardensis by Hutchison (1968), Dalquest (1983), Gunnell et al. (2008).
