Taxonomy
Callorhynchus crassus was named by Woodward and Withe (1930). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Santa Cruz province, which is in a Miocene marine siliciclastic in the Monte Leon Formation of Argentina.
It was recombined as Ischyodus crassus by Bogan and Agnolín (2022).
