Taxonomy
Ischyrhiza basinensis was named by Case (1987). Its type specimen is AMNH 12111, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Twin Peaks, which is in a Campanian estuary/bay sandstone in the Mesaverde Formation of Wyoming.
