Taxonomy
Pinnatoolithus sangequanensis was named by Fang et al. (2009). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is 0709HJ-1-f, an egg, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sangequan, which is in a Cretaceous terrestrial horizon in the Honglishan Formation of China.
