Simimys murinus
Taxonomy
Simimys murinus was named by Wilson (1949). Its type specimen is LACM (CIT) 3529, a partial skull (anterior part o skull with left M1), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tapo Canyon (Upper), which is in an Uintan terrestrial horizon in the Sespe Formation of California.
It was synonymized subjectively with Simimys simplex by Lillegraven and Wilson (1975), Kelly et al. (1991), Kelly (1992), Korth (1994), Walsh (1997).
