Simimys simplex

Taxonomy
Eumysops simplex was named by Wilson (1935) ["genotype"]. Its type specimen is LACM (CIT) 1759, a mandible (leeft ramus with m1-m3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pearson Ranch (Bed CS20), which is in a Duchesnean terrestrial horizon in the Sespe Formation of California. It is the type species of Simimys, Eumysops.

It was recombined as Simimys simplex by Wilson (1935), Wood (1980) and Kelly (1992).
