Diagnosis
| Reference | Diagnosis | |
|---|---|---|
| E. A. Zvonok and I. Danilov 2025 | Progeoclemys latipalata differs from Geoclemys hamiltoni by shorter and wider snout, pinched anteriorly in dorsal view, more dorsally oriented orbits, frontal contribution to the orbital rim, absence of the jugal contribution to the orbital rim due to a contact between postorbital and maxilla, wider triturating surface of the upper jaw with stronger participation of the palatine, diminution or absence of carapacial keels and less strong extension of marginals 12 on to the visceral side of the pygal. In addition, Progeoclemys latipalata differs from Palaeoemys spp. (sensu Claude et Tong, 2004) in less developed buttresses and less strong extension of marginals 12 on to the visceral side of the pygal |
