Taxonomy
Cardinia hongkongensis was named by Chen (1997). Its type specimen is NIGP 128444, a valve (right valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sample NC-1, Nai Chung, which is in a Bucklandi marine siliciclastic in the Tolo Channel Formation of Hong Kong.
