EtymologyThe genus name Byeoljubuchelys is derived from the combination of the Korean word Byeoljubu, a turtle character in Sugungga, one of the epic tales of Pansori (a traditional Korean musical storytelling art), and the Ancient Greek word chelys meaning turtle
