It was recombined as Isurus praecursor americana by White (1956); it was recombined as Isurus praecursor americanus by Thurmond and Jones (1981); it was recombined as Macrorhizodus americanus by Zhelezko and Kozlov (1999), Malyshkina et al. (2013).
