Mesoscalops irwini

Taxonomy
Mesoscalops irwini was named by Albright et al. (2026). Its type specimen is MMNS VP-8239, a tooth (left m2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Jones Branch Local Fauna, which is in an Arikareean terrestrial claystone in the Catahoula Formation of Mississippi.
