Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
W. W. Korth 2020Primitive characters (typical of sciuravids): small size, similar to that of species of Sciuravus Marsh, 1871; protrogomorphic zygomasseteric structure; cheek teeth brachydont; P3 present; hypocone on M1 and M2 large and crescentic; masseteric scar extends anteriorly to a point ventral to m2 on dentary; sharp ridge on dorsal margin of diastema; second mental foramen on dentary ventral to posterior root of p4. Derived characters (not found in other sciruavids): upper cheek teeth markedly higher-crowned lingually than buccally (unilateral mesodonty); protoloph and metaloph complete on upper molars; protocone on up- per molars transversely compressed (crescentic); endoloph on upper molars complete after moderate wear; ectolophid continuous between protoconid and hypoconid on lower cheek teeth; mesolophid present on lower molars.
