Taxonomy
Ecclesimus mcdougalli was named by Storer (2019). Its type specimen is RSM P2113.559, a tooth (right M1 or M2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Carnagh, which is in a Chadronian terrestrial horizon in the Cypress Hills Formation of Canada.

Storer 2019Size close to Ecclesimus tenuiceps; P4 narrower than M1-2; M1-2 entostyle (cusp names follow Wahlert, 1983) tending to be more compressed laterally than in E. tenuiceps; lingual cingulum of M1- M2 continuous with a series of cuspules including the entostyle along its length; lower premolar strongly four- cusped, with a distinct protostylid, strong anterior cingulid free buccally and attached to the anterolingual end of an oblique protoconid which is clearly separated from the metastylid; anterior cingulid of lower molars strong and continuous across the entire crown and showing only a low, weak connection with the anterolingual face of the protoconid; p4 to m2 with distinct cuspule in the position of the posterior cingulid.
