Taxonomy
Pareumys flynni was named by Korth (2020). Its type specimen is FMNH PM 55060 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is JJF 7-21-90-1, which is in an Uintan terrestrial horizon in the Washakie Formation of Wyoming.
