Uintaparamys grangeri
Taxonomy
Paramys (Leptotomus) grangeri was named by Matthew (1910). Its type specimen is AMNH 2016, a partial skeleton (a lower jaw with fragmentary skeleton), and it is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Leptotomus, Uintaparamys, Paramys (Leptotomus).
It was recombined as Leptotomus grangeri by Burke (1934), Wilson (1940); it was recombined as Uintaparamys grangeri by Kretzoi (1968); it was synonymized subjectively with Leptotomus leptodus by Wood (1962), Wood (1980).
