Taxonomy
Paramys leptodus was named by Cope (1873) [also said to be 1872].

It was recombined as Plesiarctomys leptodus by Cope (1883); it was recombined as Leptotomus leptodus by Matthew (1910), Wilson (1940), Wilson (1949), Wood (1962); it was recombined as Uintaparamys leptodus by Anderson (2008).
