Taxonomy
Cloudina petala was named by Chen et al. (2026) [Cloudina? petala]. Its type specimen is ELEL_25YBS_E_26_017 (Secreted tube) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Yuanbaoshan section. 60 m, which is in an Ediacaran carbonate dolomite in the Dengying Formation of China.

Each funnel consists of several lobate plates; hence the entire tube appears to consists of multiple whorls of plates in external view. |
