Taxonomy
Lucina vicksburgensis was named by Casey (1903) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Oligocene; Gulf Coastal Plain.]. Its type specimen is ANSP 994, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.
It was recombined as Myrtea (Myrtea) vicksburgensis by Bretsky (1976), Dockery (1982); it was recombined as Myrtina vicksburgensis by Taylor and Glover (2021).
