Lucina dentata was named by Defrance (1823). It is extant. It is the type species of Parvilucina (Microloripes).

It was recombined as Lucina (Loripes) dentata by Kautsky (1925); it was recombined as Parvilucina (Microloripes) dentata by Studenka (1982); it was recombined as Lucina (Microloripes) dentata by Moths et al. (2010); it was recombined as Microloripes dentata by Taylor and Glover (2021).
