Ondatra idahoensis minor
Taxonomy
Ondatra idahoensis minor was named by Wilson (1933) [originally named as O. idahoensis minor by R Wilson 1933; moved with that species to Pliopotamys by Hibbard 1941b]. Its type specimen is USNM 12624, a mandible (incomplete right ramus with m1-m2), and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Dolomys minor by Kretzoi (1955); it was synonymized subjectively with Pliopotamys idahoensis by Hibbard (1956) and Hibbard (1957); it was recombined as Pliopotamys minor by Hibbard (1959), Zakrzewski (1969), Kurten and Anderson (1980), Martin (1993); it was synonymized subjectively with Ondatra zibethicus by Martin (1993); it was recombined as Ondatra minor by Martin (1996).
